The ogre's out of the bag!  Our Spring 2025 show will be Shrek the Musical!

​Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland is thrilled to announce Eric Eitel as our interim treasurer.

Eric considers himself a theater kid through and through. From performing in high school productions and short films, to more recent forays into the professional stagehand world, he has been proud to watch this legacy continue with his daughters and their involvement with CTSMD since 2022. Most recently you may have seen Eric assisting with load-ins and load-outs, but he loves to help wherever he can best serve.

He has been working in the fields of insurance and financial services since 2015, and is currently the Financial Secretary of UAW Local 2503, the dealers union at MGM, National Harbor. He is excited to bring his experience in finance and his fondness for spreadsheets to support CTSMD as their interim treasurer and further their mission of growing our next generation of local talent.

Eric enjoys spending free time with his wife Anjelica, their daughters Jenny and Sean, and their kitty Dinah. They love watching performances and try to fit in as many trips to Disney World as is reasonably possible. His favorite musicals are Hamilton, Waitress, and The Wiz.

Aug. 4th - Southern Community Center, LUSBY
Aug. 11th - Mt. Hope Community Center, SUNDERLAND

AGES:
8-18

WHAT TO PREPARE:
Please have 16-24 bars (30 sec. - 1 min) of a SONDHEIM piece prepared...NOT from Sweeney Todd!!!
You may not sing acapella, please have a karaoke/instrumental track that we can pull up for you on YouTube, or a link that can be shared quickly with us during your time slot 
We prefer that you bring a headshot/resume. However, we will be taking your picture upon arrival, as well.
You will be asked to fill out an audition form when you arrive, so please allow for enough time to do so BEFORE your allotted time slot!!

CALLBACKS:
Callbacks will take place at the College of Southern MD (Prince Frederick campus, Building B) on Monday, August 12th from 5:30 - 8:00
If you are not asked for a callback, you MAY STILL BE IN CONSIDERATION FOR CASTING!

REHEARSALS (Starting Wednesday, August 14):
Sundays 1:00 - 5:00 at the Calvert School of Dance (Huntingtown location)
Wednesdays 5:15 - 8:15 at the College of Southern MD (Prince Frederick campus, Building B)
MANDATORY PARENT MEETING will be held during our first rehearsal on Wednesday, Aug. 14th.
** IF YOU ARE CAST, please know that there is a $100 participation/instruction fee that must be collected in order for you to be part of this production!!!**

"The Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland recently announced an upcoming transition in leadership.Bill Righter, who has been serving as the board president since the theater’s inception in 2021, will be stepping down effective Jan. 1, 2024, to take a more active role as artistic director. Lara Reisman, who has served as the board secretary since 2021, will be the new board president, also effective Jan. 1, 2024."
